As Art Director, I developed the complete visual identity and graphic package for the documentary. The director, Mark, initially approached me to create a location map of Cabo Pulmo, and the collaboration expanded to include maps, opening titles, end credits, and official and promotional posters for the film’s release in Mexico and the United States.
Mario Castro, a retired commercial fisherman, helped transform Cabo Pulmo, Mexico, into one of the world’s most recognized marine conservation success stories. Through his personal journey, the film explores his deep connection to the region and the decades-long commitment behind its protection.
Today, that achievement faces renewed pressure from large-scale tourism development, limited institutional oversight and rapid population growth. Moving between past and present, El Pulmo examines the challenges of preserving both a marine ecosystem and the community that fought to protect it.
